Question Ultra vs Roadglide buffeting, What are you talking about?

I've been reading threads claiming that RGs have a terrible BUFFETING problem especially when compared to batwings. I've owned both and have put plenty of long day travel miles with both and have not been able to figure out what the problem is for those who are complaining. To me buffeting means having wind knock your head side to side or back and forth. This was something I never experience with my old 01 RG with either my touring windshield or low 'cool look' wind deflector and with or without the lowers installed. I'd been wondering if the problem was related to the shape of the newer bikes windshields.
This January I traded the 01 in for a new 09 RG and have been riding with the standard windshield without having any buffeting. This weekend I replaced my the wshield with a wind deflector which doesn't even come as high as the radio console. I still couldn't get any buffeting. The airflow I was experiencing was smooth and even, not a problem at all.
What's wrong with my RGs that I don't get buffeting???
Here are pics of the bikes in question:

I got some buffeting on my SG when it had the 1 inch factory shield, but I changed it to a 7 inch and problem gone. It wasn't the bike moving so much as it was my head.

Wldbill,
A lot has to do with ones height, how he sets in the seat, what kind of seat he has, what kind of helmet he wears, with or without lowers, what kind of handlebars, etc. I for one experienced buffeting that was so annoying that I considered selling my RG. I have since changed to a 1" taller clearview windshield and put lowers on mine. This made it much better and tollerable.

Hey Draft,
I guess I'll just have to let it go! It's just bugged me to hear these complaints when I can't come close to duplicating the problem. Our local shop has sold at least three RGs this year and so far nobody is having a problem. The tech in me would just like to see the source of this buffeting found and corrected. It looks like this thread will just fade away, just as well.

New RG w/ Klockwerks WS. Feel some buffeting above 80mph. Not enough to bother me, I'm glad because it looks great.

Any bike you buy needs to be "tuned" to your preference. I put on the tall HD shield and have no problems with buffeting.
