Default Model Conversion: FLHRCI to FLHTCUI

I know it sounds stupid but, Does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade a Road King Classic to an Ultra Classic E G? Costs? Don't want to get rid of my Road King to buy a Ultra Classic, no space for 2 bikes. But want to ride more comfortably in long trips. Thanks...

easiest way is to buy detachable fairing, tour pak and lowers. I got all used for under $1600. the H-D fairing from the late 80s and early 90s is a quick install and can be had on eBay for about $200.

Contact jcbpa he did a wonderful job of making his look like an ultra. He has many pics for you to look at in an album.

If you actually wanted to make it a full blown ultra you would also have to change out the wiring harnesses....audio overlay harness, interconnect, etc. Like said above, just get the detachable stuff and lowers and be done with it.

Thanks everyone. Yes, the idea is to make the full conv (CB, audio, electrical harnesses, tour pack, etc.). Under $1,600.00 sounds affordable. I will appreciate it all the help.

Dawg, is this true? I'm not up on how the HD fairings are assembled, is there just an inner and outer and they bolt up, or is there additional hardware needed? I'm seriously considering a detach fairing by DC, or Dragonfly, but if this is an option I may consider it.

Jeez, it's got to be easier to just sell your Road King and buy a used Ultra. Ebay is full of them.

not to mention changing the tank.. because the UC is a center-fill tank.

It's a Road King Classic 2001.

Jberg: Sound easy but looks like I have to spend additional $6K-$7K. That's why I'm asking if there is a $2k-$3k option. Thanks...
