Does anyone here know if the side plates on a 09 road king will fit on a 08 road king? Im want to change paint. I wonder what could be altered to make them fit. Part numbers are the same execpt for last 2 numbers. has anyone done this yet ? thanks

 

Since there was a frame redesign I would think not.Check them out at a dealer

 

Seeing that the ending two numbers are diffrent, which I suspect would be (-09) more than likely not. Usually if they are compatable then a letter would be at the suffix of the part number like a,b,etc. Then again, it just may diffrent enough to warrent a diffrent part number. Maybe someone with an '09 would be kind enough to take a pic. I did not pu my '09 parts manuals yet, so I cannot help yet. I am in a retro-fitting project my self, Timberland got me thinking.

 

09 sideplates are different.
