Unhappy Stereo Headset Woes

Is there a trick to getting stereo from the Harley head set setup? I have a 2007 Roadglide. I also have an Autocomm system. I rode an UltraClassic earlier this week and I like the idea of being able to control my radio using the switches on the handlebars that I am paying for. I bought the communications switch kit and wiring harness. I have it installed. I hooked up my helmet with J&M speakers and I only get sound from one side. I also tried my wife's helmet with Autocomm speakers and the same thing. It doesn't matter whether the input is AM, FM, or Aux. Same results. Is there something else that needs to be done. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
