i know this will be stupid but here goes. i have been reading about you all installing an mp3 disc in the cd player, what is the plug for on the right hand side of the radio, i thought it was to play an mp3 or ipod through the bike speakers. i would like to have a long playing disc of favorite songs but not sure how to do it. remember be nice i'm old!!!!!

You are exactly right. The hole is for adding an external music source such as an Ipod. Possibly the confusion is from the fact that MP3 format music can reside on a hard drive(Ipod), a CD, or a memory card. The H-D mp3 player which is handlebar mounted uses a card similar to a digital camera. I have 350 songs on mine.

Only the Harmon Kardon (2006) H-D stereo is capable of playing mp3 format CDs. The older ones will only play regular music CDs.

Hope this helps, and welcome to the forum.

You can make the disk on a computer if you have a CD burner and the appropriate software.
