The sound clip seems to show the sound reminiscent of glass-packs of years past. Is that an accurate description? Or is it just the video? I'm referring to high-to-low rpm when you let off the throttle.
Others were talking about quieter pipes. Problem is,if you want good performance and a quieter sound, the pipes need to be of sufficient size to handle the sound while still flow some decent air. The Monster Ovals would have been my choice, but I'm not about to grind pipes that cost that much! So, since I have time (as in I need to save up $), I can compile my favorite's list. Thanks for that clip by the way.
And FWIW, the black air cleaner looks real sweet with the pipes and your bike color. Nice choice!
Thanks man, I really like the look it was what I was really going after so much the performance. As for the sound the audio is a little "twangy" than in person but old glass-packs would be a pretty close comparison. I was looking at the monster ovals to go with the dresser duals but once I saw them on a few other baggers (very popular-read ALOT) I thought they just looked to big sitting under the bags that plus the price! Overall I am real happy with it.

Hey, you're welcome. My first thoughts echoed yours on the MO's, but they've grown on me due to the sound. And price? Gets up there too damn quick. Just for the hell of it I was doing a bit of rough math for an exhaust with everything. Hmm, pipes, headers (if chosen), intake and perhaps a PC-V with Auto-tune? Doing it yourself and your still scary close to 2 G's! Better get off my *** and sell that stuff I took off my previous bike before I let her go.
I decided I better not go too loud on this bike so as not to be annoyed on lengthy rides. That ear ringing sucks! When I had the shield on my Road King, it wasn't too bad. They werre only SE pipes, mild at best. Then I surprised my girl a couple years ago with V&H Big Shots (and we even did their 'quiet' baffles) and while the bike sounds fantastic around town, on the highway it set up a resonance that it annoyed the hell out of me when I wore my touring helmet. Now with this batwing fairing and the (for now) tall OE windshield, I think I could hear a cricket fart compared to my Road King. So, enough sound to hear her sing, but not so much where I eventually won't hear anybody sing. Yeah, finally got it through my thick skull that my hearing has, uh, changed a bit the past couple years I've been doing more highway miles. In the mean time, with these OE pipes, I'm going to have to wear a sign that says "make your own vroom sound as I pass"!
