Default Lower Faring support bar HELP!

SO - I've got my engine guard off, and I'm installing the ower fairing support bar that I ordered from drag...

I'll be dipped if I can figure out how to install this thing??

The bolts that screw into the turn signals are too long - do I need to cut them down?

I got my bike out of storage 2 hours ago, and I've yet to ride it.

(I know - stupid!)

Any help on what I'm missing? I'm losing my mind - must be thinking of the ride, instead of how to install this thing. (I'm not an idiot - I SWEAR!)

Please let me know - It's 59 degrees in Waukesha, WI - and I'm jonesin' to get some mile in today.

I'm seriously close to putting the engine guard back on the bike... ARGHH!!!

Below is a pic of the turn signal relocation kit that goes along with the fairing support bar. The pic also shows how the support bar is attached.
