Default Wheel dilemma

So I really do not like the factory wheels on my streetglide, the finish looks horrible even though I clean the bike religiously. I had a set of 21/18 put on the bike last summer and did not like the top heavy feel of the bike at slow speeds as well as how the bike was sitting higher (I do have the front lowered) but they looked amazing. My dilemma is to go with a new set of 18/18, 18/16 or 16/16. Does going going with 18/18 raise the bike at all like the 21/18 combo? I am thinking of a 2 piece black and chrome wheel since the majority of the bike is blacked out minus the motor and exhaust.

Have your stock wheels chromed or blacked out, it will save you money on buying different wheels. Just sayin.

You can get an 18/18 combo with low pro tires to sit real close to the same height as the 16/16. I've run 18s on several bikes and love them.

I really like the idea of the 18's im just afraid it will raise the bike up which is not a desirable outcome. I also like the idea of chroming the factory wheels but by the time I have them chromed and new tires I am getting close to the cost of a set of hogpro's

Like I said, if you are careful choosing the tires you put on the 18s you won't raise your bike at all. Low profile tires make up for it.

What size tire do you recommend for the 18's?

130/70/18 in the front.

Heathen is right on for the front. As for the rear, it depends on the year of your bike and if you want to go to a wider tire than stock.

+1 I just had the 18/18 Blade wheel combo installed and it handles as well as stock. I think the 18/18 is a good compromise for looks and handling.
