speedo accuracy?

Yep. My speedo reads about 3 mph higher than my GPS at highway speeds. I think that means that on a long ride I actually arrive at my destination sooner than the satellite thinks I do. Or something like that...
Or does that really mean that Big Brother is watching me? I think I will fabricate a tin foil cover for the GPS that can protect me from the spy satellites!

It seems that virtually every car and motorcycle I read about is inacurate and always shows faster speed than actual.
I don't know about all of you but I'm pretty sure that this is by design and not just the inability to provide accurate calibration.
If miles accumulate even 5% faster, then warrantees expire sooner and leases generate more extra mileage charges. Car companies have been subjected to class action suits over this but it hasn't stopped.
Funny how you never hear about inacurate speedometers reading too slow.

speedo reading
My buddy told me the other week that is mileage on his speedo (08 Road Glide) is more then his HD GPS unit. And its off by 3 tenths of a mile. I could see 100 feet or so but that much. Figure it out. You will trade the bike in faster and do more service maintence. Meaning more money coming out of your pockets sooner when it does not need to be done and trade in value less. Oh, it must be HD's way to stimulate the econemy in there own way. . Big brother is always one step of head of us!!!!
