speedo accuracy?

Speedo on o4 Ultra said 105mph, GPS said 98.7 mph.

Most of them tend to read fast. I don't mind, psychologically speaking. Better that than the other.

A lot of the older bikes had certified speedos - Those were near deadly-accurate. My old RK had a certified speedo - It said 55, GPS said 55. My '08 (missing the "Certified" from the speedo) is off, variably, about 3-6% if memory serves.

But again, if the speed limit says 55 and the speedo says 60, I'm in a better mood and I'm probably doing 57 - Hardly reason enough to attract the attention of certain sworn individuals.

In speedometers, it's by design (autos, also.....at freeway speed).

But I can also tell you that every guage that Harley makes is off.....way off. Doesn't matter....gas, oil pressure, oil temp, air temp, amp, just doesn't matter. After all....in Harley's eyes they're only there for looks....not for fuction. You didn't really expect an accurate speedometer did you?
