Default Question about kids riding???

We are planning a family vacation this summer and will be traveling through TX, OK, AR, and MO and will have kids ranging from 11-17 with us. They all want to take a turn on our bikes and I was just wondering whats the law on having kids ride 2up with ya? This is a family vacation and all their parents consent to them riding even if I haven't completely yet. Taking them around the block is one thing, but some back roads through the country is different. I dont want to end up in jail for letting my nephew on the back of my bike if its against the law.

No minimum age in OK, just mandatory helmet if under 21 (i think, might be 18)

MO is helmets for everybody, not sure about a minimum age for passengers.

Minimum 8 yrs old in AR, and same with the mandatory helmet. Google "state helmet laws" and there are several sites that have rider and passenger requirements.

Thanks for the info, just found a web site that says we should be fine as far as the law goes for ages etc... we will all have helmets so thats a non issue. Id just hate to get thrown in jail for child endangerment or something like that while on vacation. I saw a post a few weeks ago about a guy giving his kid a ride and he caught all kinds of flack from some people on here. Not sure how old his kid was, but some opinionated folks let him have it.

They must be tall enough to reach the passenger foot pegs, 8 years old is just a guidline. Really just need to be the right size.

Also, please don't put them in an adult helmet that's way too big. Not saying you're this type but I've seen many young kids riding behind daddy with an XXL half helmet strapped on.

I take the 7 year old daughter with me all the time. And the wife rides the 12 year old son, I ride the younger one because I have a tour pack on my bike when she's on it, less to wory about. They both love it and can't wait untill the next ride.

been riding my son since he was around 10 the only problem I had was him falling asleep even up in his early teens. finely cured the problem last month he bought a 1200c bet he doesn't fall asleep now all kidding aside do be careful about them falling asleep the drone of the exhaust has that effect when you are riding on back,

+1 on this. Just purchased two DOT and SNELL approved full faced helmets for both of my boys.
