Default One last question about the 04 Road King Custom

She has a big bore kit. Anyone have the kit in their 88" twin cams? HOw is the performance?

What is this I hear about a wobble with the touring frames in corners? Any truth to this?

thanks again for the responses for my first question

I have an '04 RKC. It's my fourth Road King (after 1 standard and 2 Classics), and I love it.

I also have the 95" Big Bore with Branch forged pistons, Branch heads, S&S carb, gear-drive cams, Daytona Twin Tech ignition and Rineharts. Good performance. Not as fast as my '05 Softail that puts out 108HP, but still a constant 97-98HP both times on the Dyno.

Wobble? No wobble here (unless I've got too many Beam and Cokes in me).

I also have the 95" kit in my 05 RKC, and the power difference is night and day to stock 88".

As far as wobble, I think it depends more on your riding style, and how fast you are willing to take it in the curves. My understanding is that these frames are not designed to take it to the limit in the turns, so keeping it in the safe zone and you should not have to worry.

Mike.

What big bore parts were used? You need to know the recipe.

The wobble is greatly exaggerated, IMO. Of course guys that dropped big bucks on a cure will argue otherwise. All that I know is that I have been riding HD Touring models on and off-duty for 10 years and never experienced it.

Yeah, I have the "basic" SE 95" big bore kit in my 02 'King and I am very pleased with it. No head work and only a download (no in-depth tuning) and I get 88hp and 96 tq. I have a buddy with an 08 SG with Stage 1 and race tuner and I kick him all over the place. I personally have never encountered the "wobble" and I ride pretty aggressively.

one more here with the 95" kit (with K&N filter, PCIII tune and V&H longshots)...happy and problem-free for years now. this is my 4th HD and never encountered this wobble..... maybe because I'm too busy enjoying the ride
