I just traded my 08 ElectraGlide Standard for an 09 StreetGlide. Best thing I could have done. If you can afford it, do it. You won't be sorry.

$5K now is very reasonable once you take into account future resale value. Your '07 is only going to drop further in value, making a trade-in later more expensive. Take off the extras and ebay them.

btw, there are no issues to "work out" on the '09

I will imagine that everyone who has an '09 will say they love it, I know I do. Just like everyone loved the '07. Just like veryone will love the '10s. It was the right time financially for me and I really liked the changes that were made for '09 so I bought my bike. I have 6000 miles since November and I ride it like I stole it. The handling is the first thing most people talk about but the gear ratios have alot to do with how much fun the bike is to ride. Its very smooth with the motor mount changes. ABS is great once you get used to it. It is heavier and the seat is a little wider due to the frame change. This gives the bike a kind of tall feeling once stopped. I solved that with a seat change. Once your moving it is surprising how nimble it is. This is my primary transportation and its easy to handle in traffic or in the twisties. I'm not sure what bugs the earlier post was eluding to but I haven't had any issues and I haven't read about any here.
Good luck in your decision.

Thanks to everyone who replied!

With that being said, I've made up my mind, GoldWing, yeah, right. . .

I think I'll hold out for the 2010's.

Thanks again.

The D&D FatCat will work on the 09. I'm using one, no problems.

Holy Cow what a difference!!! I am SO glad I made the switch, the bike is completely different. It was delivered on Sat and I already have 500 miles on it. I can not say enough about it.
What exactly is different? I'm mean what is it that is so great that it's worth taking on a new SG?

If you can afford it do and don't look back, I traded my 2006 Ultra Classic with 21,000 miles, with the economy as it is they are dealing or at least where I bought mine, Mike's Famous New Castle DE. Go for it the ride is great deal of different and with the changes they made in 09 i don't think you will see this big change in many years to come. Check them out. Good people.
