Well fellers, the new Hogtunes speakers were waiting for me at the doorstep. Got the outer fairing off, after some work. Installed the new speakers and they sound great. Can't wait to get her out on the road for the true test.

 

I installed mine last week, sound great!

 

Just installed a pair tonight , I was somewhat disappointed. Guess I need to add a amp.

 

Dynomat the inside of your outer fairing. Makes a big differance

 

put in the 3 way for the freeway setup last week. sounds a lot better but above about 70-75 on the highway you get so much wind noise.

 

I'm getting distortion from a bar or 2 past half volume. Dynomat will fix that???

 

Chief I am guessing the amp might be what you need. I had a similar problem on my bike. Now mine was a cop bike so I had to get an aftermarket radio to begin with. BUT, same thing here, no amp, speaker distort before they even got loud enough to be heard at cruising speeds. I added an amp and replaced the crappy J&M with the new 6.5's from Biketronics and I am REALLY impressed! I hope you get an amp and are amazed like I was, you will love it.

 

When my radio is half way it is LOUD. I turn it on when its in the garage, when I was my car 100' away and it is loud and clear. I have Rush 2.25 baffles and even when Im riding its loud.

If I was going to get an amp I would get better speakers than Hogtunes

 

i put 8 speaker in my ultra with amp i love it but iam 50 yrs old

 

I just added Hogtunes with the amp,,, Pez was great to deal with and seems to be a stand up guy and know's his stuff. I also went so for as adding a new windshield from customflhtwindshields.com and with the combo of the two I am very impressed with the setup. Sounds good at 85 mph so that's saying something right there,,,,,just my .02
