Default 4pt docking hardware, can I do it?

I'm not helpless but I want it to work right, has anybody had luck doing it themselves? To fit backrest for now.

This is about the easiest thing you can do to your bike.

09's are not anywhere near as painful as prior years...

I have heard that the 09 docking hardware installation is a piece of cake compared to earlier versions.

Very easy! About a 10 min job on an 09. I used blue locktite instead of red that is in the instructions just incase I decide to ever remove it.

I had the dealer throw mine in with the deal so I didn't have to mount it, but looking at it it does look simple to install. works great with the pass backrest and luggage rack.

Harley gives some vague instructions with the kits but it isn't too hard. The thing that helps the most is having the right tools, if you plan to do stuff you should invest in some good tools, then add as you go. I change out my tour pack when I'm going on long trips.

I opened the box and looked at the kit last night, it's been redesigned for 09.
Looks like a piece o cake now.

The older style was easy if you used the instruction to light a cigar before you started.

Like others have said, the '09 is a piece of cake, and I'm far from even a shade tree mechanic
