I have said it before, I bought and installed a Klockwerks shield and found it way too loud, gave me a headache. But it looked good on the bike.

Added a SSC from Cee Bailey's and like it for cruising around town, but I've found on the highway at higher speeds, it starts beating my helmet around some. I had the 12", which is about as tall as I can go to see over it, so my next try will be a CV 8". I'm 5' 9", 31 inseam, and should put me looking right over the top. This thread is helping solidify my decision....

Well the poll seems to speak loud and clear. Ordered the 8" Clearview Recurve in dark grey today. Sucks that I gotta wait 2-4 weeks to find out if I like it or not, but hopefully it will be worth the wait.

Mile High HD in Denver carries a full inventory of the Clearview. They do sometimes have an occasional backorder. They carry more on hand than anyone dealer I've encountered.

I have tried the Clearview and the Flare back-to-back, and for me the Klock Werks was the clear(sorry) winner. 5'10" with Danny Gray Big Seat and stock bars. The one advantage of the Flare is the stability that the downforce creates at higher speeds. I'll sacrifice a bit of noise for that stability.

I'm 6' and the Klockwerks caused the wind to blast me right in the eyes. it loks cool but for me it doesn't function at all.
I have a 8" and a 9 1/2" CV w/recurve, they actually work well for me during the warmer months. In winter My 12" can't be beat for protection but I hate looking through it.

I bought an 8" recurve tinted 'blem' from Clearview.....they explained where the 'blem' was....told me if I didnt like it....just return. Like the way it looks on the bike. No need for return. Had a couple of VERY foggy mornings here in the Houston area....sure made a difference. Im enjoying looking OVER the shield....not the bifocal line of the 9.5", or thru it like the 12" HDs.

I dont think my GF is too crazy about the shorter shield...she always complained about the 9.5"....too much wind. I just explained how the fog and mist were 'unsafe'....and she agreed.

Time will tell...but if I DO go with a taller shield, it'll be the next size up Clearview.
