My '02, '04 and '05 work bikes would start (and idle in neutral) with the side stand down. Lots of times I would have to let it idle while directing traffic to keep the lights from killing the battery.

 

I spliced together the 8 wires in the harness...it worked like a charm...the bike actually starts nicer now without the solenoid override...it was a harder start before...now its smooth....its just if someone jumps on my bike and doesn't know about the clutch override, they will have a nice surprise...
