As a 08 ultra owner I am sure glad to hear that the 09's are not perfect. I did a short test ride on a 09 when the Harley test ride fleet came through this year and it did not reach out and say buy me. I am gonna rent a 09 EG classic next month while in Vegas for a few days, I should get some more time in the saddle, I sure hope the bike is not as much better as all you 09 owners say. I can't afford another 20+ grand.

The '09 Touring Bikes handle way better then any stock touring bikes of the past, period....

Big deal, a jiffy stand bracket that could be changed if the owner wants to change it. It's not a safety issue or a recall.

Yeah, it leans over a lot more then normal and it takes a little muscle to get it upright. Once you do it a few times, it's a non-issue but I am still changing mine. In fact, mine came in today.....Picking it up tomorrow...

 

They're only not perfect because H-D used the '08 side stand on some of them

Thanks for the info. This has been aggravating me since day one especially if you have to park in grass or something. Will get on the phone in the a.m.

 

I went to my Dealer yesterday and they said they hadn't seen anything from HD about it. I called HD Customer Service and sure enough my bike is included. It was built on 8/11/08. The person I talked to on the phone said to go back to the dealer and they would call them and inform them of the bulletin #1243 to replace the jiffy stand. HD put 08 stands on 09 bikes and with the larger wheels they lean over more. Went back to the dealer and they knew all about it and my replacement stand has been ordered. Gee I wonder how they found out so quick.
