If you wanta full 6 gallons, you gotta get it to the top. I ran my 08 nearly dry, and was able to put only 5.1 gallons. Counter said I had under 10 miles left on the tank..

I agree that these tanks are a very bad design for filling. It really makes no sense to have them this way. No wonder the gas cuff came out just after the 08 touring bikes did...Harley must know of the problem, they just don't want to admit that it is a problem.

Glad to hear that the cuff works. May have to pick one of those up. Guess I could store it in a zip-lock bag in the lower fairing glove box...

 

I think I may try one of those cuffs also. It is harder to fill this 08 without getting gas all over the place than my previous 96 RK.

 

I save myself some aggravation by filling up at home using a gas can and large funnel prior to any long rides. Plus I fill it while on the center stand which gives me more fuel in the tank.

Sure, if I go over 200 I will need to fill up on the road but at least I can cut down on at least one aggravating fill up.....

The cuff sounds like a good thing and even though it will take extra time to open a saddlebag to pull it out, the no-spillage advantage makes it worthwhile.....
