Even posting rider height, I can see some discrepancies. Some people's height is all in the legs, some in the torso. Best to go with the recommendations on the windshield mfg's site. For me, at 6'1", the 9.5" Clearview with recurve is great for visibility, but not so good for wind and buffeting compared with the stocker. This isn't boulevard cruising -- it's superslab commuting at 80+ mph. I'd do better with a 10.5" or 11" shield (lowered just so the top isn't in my line-of-sight).

I'm 5'9" and have the 10-1/2" clearview on the ultra and I can see over it perfectly, I think this is the best size for me.

I'm 5'10" and have the 9.5" Clearview with recurve on my Ultra. I look over it just fine and like the protection it offers too.

I'm 5'10" and have a EGC with 8" clearview with recurve. No wind buffeting and I have a good 1 1/2" to 2" over the top of the shield to look down the road. Great Shield!!

The 8" clearview recurve on mine is at its limit with the new lower sundowner seat. I looked over the top considerably more with the mustang touring seat. Now I find myself looking through it more especially two up. It's the dark grey shield and I'm 5'11. I think its ok and I don't have any plans for a shorter one.........yet.

I'm 5' 10" and I have the 4in windvest that has more of a curve than clearveiw. I must say that I was surprised how well the windvest 4in. performed. Now granted, I bought it for two reason's, the look's, and the extra curve, that is claimed to add 2 to 3 inches of height. Meaning that a 4in. would act like a 6 or 7 inch shield. I must say that it work's! I put on several hundred mile's with it and I love it! I did order a 6 inch one, so that I could keep it on year round. But, depending on how it look's, I just may keep the 4in. on.

What is funny about this is my 8"in. Clearview recurve works great with no helmet and I like the look. The Helmet I have makes my teeth rattle with the same combination.

I am going to get the chrome lower air deflector from Harley that goes between the forks and see if that helps. 5'11", Corbin Seat , lowering shocks in rear.

+1 on that. Novelty helmet no buffeting......DOT Helmet about shakes my head and glasses off. Must be the thicker padding that the wind catches. I just received a 6 1/2" clearview with recurve and I am 5'7"...should be just about right for my height on a SG. I will keep you posted as soon as I get it on.

I just ordered the 8" Clearview Re-curve in smoke. Ordered a blemished screen with a small scratch in the lower right corner -- no BD to me.

The helmet issue is interesting, my first ride on my 09 SG was in 40 degree weather and I wore my FF helmet. At 70 with the 4" stock screen there was a lot of buffeting. Probably the aerodynamics of a "round ball" helmet create the instability. The half helmets and egg shaped noggins probably do not set up this situation as the configuration of noggin or half helmet is more uneven. Some kind of airfoil issue goin on here.
