I put mine in my inner fairing on the opposite side side of the clutch cable. I put it there so my GPS will plug in ..... Drilling the hole there was a little stressful. It took a good 30-40 min of looking at it before I drilled but it turned out good. I wired it to the other lighter plug under the fairing. Here's a couple of pics

That looks good, I don't know why Harley didn't move the other one up more. Guess they didn't want the libility of smokers lighting cigarettes while riding.

Just a note for those that don't care about their cigarette lighter and use it only as a power point can purchase the bar and shield rubber boot cover and install it on their normal lighter socket. It's pn# 91844-97 and retails for $1. This is what I plan on doing. This way you can leave your lighter in a drawer somewhere and not worry about losing it. Also if anyone drills their fairing like jsimo did, a step bit works real well for doing this.
