Default "Heritage Style" handlebar on RKC - An Oberservation

I purchased this handlebar (#56902-08) a few months back. Installed them, and uninstalled them the same day. I love the height (kinda like a mini-mini ape), but I absolutely HATE the wrist angle. I have to twist my wrists outward to gain a firm grip. I prefer being able to keep my wrists straight, like I can with the stock bars.

I really haven't seen these same comments from others regarding the Heritage Style bars. Seems that everyone really likes them... So has anyone else noticed the weird wrist angle, or am I truly the only one?\

Also, is there anyway to "bend" the bars to adjust the wrist angle?? Or are there any other bars out there that are otherwise identicle to them, except for the wrist angle? I'm looking at the Wild1 Chubby 513 Baby Apes, but they're $220.

I put the Wild1 Chubby 518's on mine, noticed the wrist angle too! They r a little like Beach bars in that respect. The Heritage bars are also like that on my buddies Softail. I don't think you can bend the bars without compromising some strength.

Thanks for the heads up on this as I was considering heritage bars. I also didn't like the wrist angle on the beach bars I've tried. Tiring to operate the clutch and you have to grip tight on the highway to keep the wind from pushing your hands off the bars.

But my '00 fxst was fine in this respect. Will have to check out the heritage bars at the dealer one more time.

i just ordered myself some heritage bars for my 09 RoadKing. The stock bars were killing my right elbow. I was leaning so far forward that my elbow was locked out the entire time i was riding. It sucks. My father has a 98 Heritage that I have road many time and i like the fit so I think I will be happy with the set up. Just gotta wait for them to come in.

I really do hope you enjoy the new bars that you're getting... But just to let you know, the stock bar that comes on the Heritage Softail is NOT the same as the "Heritage Style" bars for the Touring bikes.

I just put the heritage bars on my 07 roadking and don't like the wrist angle at all. Going to try lowering them a bit before taking them off. Thinking of installing pull back risers with stock bars, a little higher and back was all I needed.

I found if the bars are too far forward that wrist angle is not good. Pulling them back is the answer.

Do you have a profile (side) shot of your bars? I'm interested in seeing how far back you have them.
