Stock Bars from 09 Heritage Classic
This is from another thread but I though it would apply to this one.
I currently have the 56902-08 Heritage-style bars on my 09 Road King Classic. Has anyone tried the 56569-09 bars which are now stock on the 09 Heritage Classic.
The specs show the 09 as having a little more height and pullback. It is difficult to tell the true effect of the dimensions without them being mounted on the bike because the two bars having slightly different shapes.
The 09 version has an inside rise of 10 versus 8.5 for the 08. The 09 also has a very slight .3 inch difference in the inside rise and the outside or tip-measured rise. The 08 has a 3.5 inch difference, going from 8.5 at the bend to 12 at the tip, meaning that the angle of the grip portion is more severe.
I am just trying to get a handle on what the difference will be when sitting on the bike without having to mount them first. Just sitting on a Heritage Classic will only tell me about the wrist angle but not the reach when mounted on a Road King.

These are the 56902-08 Heritage-type bars on my Road King Classic. From the side they line up pretty exactly with the angle of the forks so they are not pulled back much but could be moving the grips back several more inches. Sorry I don't have a pic but the angle of the rise of the handlebars follows the rake angle of the fork just like a straight edge.

Okay, I've read about 4 pages of post and I'm still having a little trouble deciding where to go. I'm 5'8"-9" depending on the shoe and get a heck of a lot of upper back pain while riding my 08 RK Classic. The dealer suggested the Heritage Style bars....can anyone attest to this?
The more leaned-back riding position has made me consider getting a rider backrest though!

I'm a bit short than you (5'6"), but had the same problem. I was reluctant at first because I wasn't sure if the bars would look good with the rest of my set-up. I bit the bullet and bought the bars, and I have no regrets. I haven't had any back, shoulder or neck pain since I put them on.
