Default Blue Lock-tite

Yea, that happened to me once too, luckily I noticed they were loose when I was installing the felt liners. Used blue lock-tite have checked them several times last year and this year, no problems...Buzz

My coworker lost one of his lids on the highway, his is a 08 roadglide, as for the rusted springs they are about a dollar a piece, I buy them 4 at a time. I put 3 of them on my 03 Roadking. The dealer may try to sell you the complete latch for $100.00+++ The service manuals give you step by step instructions on how to replaced the spring.

Just checked mine. None way loose, but all needed snugging up. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the tip! I checked mine -- all the screws were there, but a few a bit loose. Fixed that with blue loctite. And the springs were a bit rusty, so I shot them with WD-40.

Noticed them loose last year - snugged em up and forgot about em.
Thanks for reminding me! I'll check em tonight.
I like the blue loctite idea....
It may be Harley just under torques them at the factory?
