Default Adhesive For Grips

Any advice outthere on an adhesive to use on the clutch side grip? I ordered a set of Kury Iso's and it came with an empty glue bottle. ( Death Grip).

The stealers sale a glue called grip glue or you can use gorilla glue. Thats what I used, and it works good.Clean the inside of the grip with MEK or acetone before glueing to get the mold release out or nothing will stick.

Your play hell getting the gorilla glue off the bars on the next grip change.
Most of the new grips really don't need glue. Not sure on the ISO grips.
Try some liquid hand soap to help slide them on, let it dry and it should hold.
It worked on the two sets of Avon grips I installed.
If not, then you could use some light-medium weight glue that will remove easily if needed.

The iso grips need glue. I had to re-glue mine twice. Clean the grips as state above and use a light grit sandpaper to roughen up the bar. Look inside the grip, you will see that there are air pockets for cushion, thus you have less contact surface for glueing. Use the gel type super glue and add it to the bars in lines where it will make contact with the rubber inside the grips. Just be careful not to let it near the powdercoat on the controls, it will turn the powdercoat a white color.

Use golf tape. It will hold the grip in place and you can still remove if necessary.

Old school remedy is hairspray. It won't last forever, but it will hold them in place, it is easy to reapply if necessary and you can get the grip off if you need to for some reason. I would not use Gorilla Glue unless you are sure you will not be removing them because it will be a bitch to get off.

Use super glue. That is what the grip glue is or use gorilla glue. Don't know why it would be hard to get off. I would just use sandpaper to remove old glue. Watch that gorilla glue. It expands so don't use too much if you do use it. The pretty and shiny chrome on the bars under the grips and not cleaning the inside of the grip is the reason some don't stick. My ISOs have been on for 18 months so far without coming loose.

With the ISO grips I had to finally use friction tape to keep the left grip from becoming loose. There just isn't enough surface area inside for glue to work with. That and the rubber inserts are two piece if I remember right.

Golf tape would work go also, never thought of that.

Willing to bet there is a couple drops in that bottle! Appears empty but always a few drops in it and that's all you need. If not, good old rubber cement holds good and comes off if necessary later.

Here's a tip too.......instead of removing the entire old cluth side grip, take a razor and cut it even with the housing. The new grip will go right up to the housing. The old piece will be in place as a water seal. This is for Kury ISo's, I know nothing about any other brand.
