Sure, but then they couldn't charge you for the parts and the install time. Of course I eliminated the install time by doing it all myself...but for most they wouldn't. Besides, some may like to know the temp inside the fairing...

Putting one on sure can't hurt... My temps have dropped better than 20 degrees. That can only be a good thing. I get less pinging while pulling hills on those hot days now.

Remember...HEAT kills everything! So...the cooler you keep your oil...the cooler you keep your engine...the longer it will last with good and regular maintenance. That include a cooler if needed, a good free-flowing synthetic oil and regular changes!

HD had a good cooler, jaggs is said is better...but hey...everyone has an opinion.

I do and will always run an oil cooler on any bagger I own. That was one of the first mods I did on the 09. It's all about how well you want to take care of your motor.

I have an oil cooler and a Lenale Fan. I replaced the in dash air temp guage with an oil temp guage. The oil temp probe is located in the oil pan. The oil cooler helps a little when moving but not when stuck in traffic. The fan cools the cylinders when in traffic and keeps the oil from getting hot to start with. The oil tempts in traffic (100 dgs F) with the fan on stay under 200 dgs F. Last week running 75 mph on I-65 oil temp was 230 F. A bit to hot to suit me. OAT was 82 f. CHT was running 290 front and 370 rear. I took the doors off of my lower fairings last night to see if that will lower my rear cylinder temps. I also increased the fuel to the rear cylinder 5%. Now if the weather will clear I can do a test run. I carry a IR thermometer to moniter the CHT and EGT untill I get my AFR adjusted to give me acceptable CHT and EGT.

Did you have to drain any oil to install it or was it just plug and play.
