Default Adjustable fairing air deflector comparison

I'm wondering if anyone has tried both what I'd call the "sleek" version of the adjustable air deflector (say part #58156-08) vs. the dragon fly version (57804-07). I like the looks of the sleeker version, but it seems a less sturdy.

Wondering if either is that much better at deflecting the wind?

I've used both - Pretty similar. Stuck with the adjustable ones just for the sake of additional wind on occasion in the heat.

I have the adjustable style on my Ultra and I was pleasantly surprised by their effectiveness.

The 'dragon fly' version is actually a Kuryakyn Dragonwing. I've had them on two bikes. I like them a lot.

OMG...thank you for pointing that out. I have a few times after alot of our forum members bash Kuryakyn. Alot of our "Harley" parts are re-labeled Kury parts! Then same parts bought by our Harley rider with the Harley label are said to be awesome...but if they buy it by the Kury name...they call it Cr@p!

I've seen it all too often. Sorry...just had to vent!

I like the looks of the dark Harley one better than the Dragonwing, personally. As for effectiveness, I love them. Being able to direct some air at your body here in the GA heat is a good thing, believe me.

I have the Kuriakin Dragon wings. On their own they are good but with the Clearview vented windshield they are great. I also like the fact that the vent opening is "indexed", which allows adjustment while riding (I know I know). I have used Baker Built on my previous bikes (They make them for HD's as does someone else). They require a lock ball to be tightened after adjusting, but they are good in that the deflection is infinitely variable. Have not tried the HD version of the Dragon Wings, but would not be without some form of them

Dragonwings here.....in most cases i keep the wing adjusted to flow over the engine and get rid of some of the heat from the motor on our Ultra.....they work great for me...
