On my Ultra, the stock 12" windshield was a 1/4" higher than my line of sight. I was constantly getting the distorted view of the edge of the windshield. So, bought a 10.5" windshield, and now I see over it naturally...but can still tuck down a little if I want and look through it.

Agree with looking over it. 2" below line of sight sounds about right.
It isn't hard to cut them down.
I found it was hard to sit in my riding position with the bike parked so I put piece of masking tape marked in 1 inch increments down the center of mine. Then went for a short ride to decide on the height I wanted.

I'm 6 ft and about 2 ins above the stock windshield on my Rk.It's just right.Wouldn't want to look through it.

Looking throw the original shield almost made me nauseous riding my bike. I bought a Clear View with recurve that is short enough to see over and that cured my problems.

Thanks guys. It wasn't so bad before I got my Mustang seat, but that sits me up a little higher and the top of the windshield is actually right in my line of sight now. I have to stretch to see over the top. I've never really enjoyed looking through the windshield, but thought I was supposed to. I'm definitely cutting it down now! Thanks again!!
