Premium Hinges and Contoured Luggage Rack. Got all the drilling out of the way at once. Had a little flub-up when drilling the rivets for the old hinges. Luckily it is covered and never to be seen again.

I was going to put the contoured rack on my T/P. But when I looked
into bags to strap to it I found very few bags that would fit.
I do have the hinges on my wish list.

We mostly use it to strap rolled sleeping bags. I wanted a rack but just don't like the size of the big ones. I'm thinking I can probably use this bag if I decide to get one.

Drilling the holes put a gut wrench in your belly did it not??
I checked and tripple checked my drill locations beforew actually drilling the holes.
It turned out just fine. Yours looks great and you will greatly enjoy it!!

Will be ordering the hinges once my dealer hosts 20% sale in April. Like the looks of the new style much rather than the factory stock.

Can you let us know what the "flub" was so we don't duplicate a possible error? I'm preparing to get out the drill, too but would like to learn from others first.

Nice job. Did the rack come with a hole template?

Looks good Monster. Now clean you garage!

I drilled for both. Not difficult at all. Dont use template for rack. Cover area in blue tape. Place the rack so you can just get a finger between the rack and the passenger backrest. Make sure everything is straight and trace the feet on the rack. Check repeatedly until you're sure it's even and drill.
New hinges make you notice how crappy the old ones were. If the rack is mounted first you won't feel bad about placing the lid on a bench to drill it. (Put a towel down first.)I used an 11/64ths drill and I used tape to secure the gasket while drilling the holes behind it.
