The tour pack and the backrest use different docking points. Check the P&A Catalog - there's a chart in there showing which stuff uses which docking points.

You need both kits w/ front and rear detatch points. The back one is the chrome loops you see on some bikes. If you didn't have one already I would tell you to do both at the same time, but you must have the front if you have a backrest thats removeable.

On the 2009 models just get the 4 point docking hardware and you can use it with backrests, luggage racks and the tour-pak.
