Thumbs up Seat and Backrest ??'s

has anyone tried the adjustable HD backrest with the stock seat on an EG? Would you buy it again or look at a different set-up? Anyone with a different set up with a backrest? I'm looking to see which direction I want to go as I'm about 5'9" and the stock seat is just a little wide for my liking, but I thought with the backrest it may move me around a bit. Had a mustang solo on my softail with a backrest and loved it, but my wife needs a place to sit and we ran out of suction cups to attach to her jeans....

The adjustable HD back rest is adjustable backwards only. If that does fit the bill try www.utopia.com They can be adjusted forwards and backwards.

I had the Harley non adjustable backrest on my 06 FLHT and the stock seat.
The combo wasn't too bad , but the seat was too soft for longer rides.
I then went with a Mustang Ultra Tour 75449 seat and the same backrest.
With the Mustang seat , it was perfect for me.
I now have a 09 Ultra Classic and moved the backrest to this bike , it works pretty good on this bike also.
I should have gone with the adjustable backrest , but this one just takes a bit more time to "tune in" for comfort.
I'm about 5'8" and 180 lbs , these combinations worked for me.

I rented an 08 Ultra last year as part of my research on the bike. It didn't have a backrest and I knew after the first half day that I'd want one.

I took delivery of an 09 Ultra two week ago and had them install an adjustable backrest before I rode it home. I'm very pleased with it. For me, it makes a big difference in comfort on the bike. As bksmokey pointed out, it is only adjustable backward. When you pull the lever, it springs all the way forward. That position is way too far forward for me. You hold the lever and push it back to where you want it and then release the lever. It works just fine for me and once I found "my" sweet spot, I've not felt the need to change it again. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat!
