i was at the dealers yesterday to trade in my road king. i already made the deal. i was getting the egc. as i sat down at the desk to sign the paper, i looked at it again, and got up and said, sorry, i cand get rid of the road king. the eg just looked to busy for me, so i will stick with just the tour pac on the back and keep the road king

If you plan on any high mileage touring - cruise is beautiful thing! It's nice to give your left arm/hand a break sometimes.
If you don't mind the premium, I only read good things about the "09"s in either version. The frame, suspension, and tranny changes - all add up to a better bike.
I think Bigskyhd has the best suggestion to help figure it out and save a little $$$$ to boot!
I'm partial to the Ultra - but never rode a Roadglide.....

Rental will help to decide. I wanted a SG and add the ultra stuff. I rented a Ultra and decided that was the one, so I bought the Ultra and added the quick release TP and solo seat and am very happy. I ride it in the solo mode about 75% of the time but still have the lowers, cruise, ect ect. Here are a couple of pics of it.
