Wild 1 Chubby 508 or 518 on Road King? Pros-Cons? Need Cables? Comfort?
Thinking of switching to Wild 1 Chubby 508 or 518 on my 2005 FLHRCI RoadKing Classic. I'm 6 foot 215 lbs. 34 inch inseam and 33 inch sleeve length. I'm looking for bars that will bring the controls closer to my body and keep my hands lower and keep me from leaning forward all the time. If you have made this change, could you comment on comfort, cables, or anything else I should know. Are there other bars out there that will do the same thing as these? THANKS!!!!!!!

I put the 518's on my 05 RKC. I'm 6'0" tall 34" inseam and 34" sleeve. The 518's fit me perfectly. You will need to change the clutch cable, throttle and idle cables to longer ones. Wild 1's website says you can use the stock brake line, but you have to adjust it to fit. I didn't like the look of that so I changed the brake line too. I think it was 4" longer on the clutch cable and 2" on everything else. Wild 1's website used to have all the info, I don't know if they still do, but call them, they are great to work with.

I'll agree with what they are saying except for the clutch cable. Mine (an 07) used the stock length clutch cable and +4 on the throttle/idle, and brake lines. They say you can use the stock ones, but by the look of the pictures I decided I didn't want all the lines stretched that tight.
Give the guys at Wild 1 a call and they can pretty much tell you how they feel different compared to the others.

These are the 508's on my '07 Road King. I "tolerated" them, but never really liked the 4" additional pullback and especially the "wheelbarrow" feeling of the grip angle. Folks say that the 518's are better in that regard. We used the stock length clutch cable and +2" throttle and brake lines. I think a better choice for the throttle and brake lines would have been +4" and tie them to the handlebars with the billet clamps that Wild 1 sells.

I had the 508's and loved them, however I am 5'7" and when someone taller road it the bars were too far back and not easy for them to use. I would see if you can find someone with them in stock and hold them both and over your bike and see which feel the best for you. Wildone makes a great bar and they look great.
