Dear Philgrocks,
Thanks for the explanation....it was helpful. WHere did the instructions say to mount the antenna base when the Tour Pak is off?
Thanks...

Daktoa Digital hidden antenna - moves the antenna into the fairing the dealer says it works as well as the factory antenna...
This thread is SUPER helpful....a huge thanks for posting this info. I just picked up a low mileage 08 and am looking to pull the pack.

Now a question for you - 60210-07 - layback license plate - I am reading that the detachable tour pak bracket will not work with this part as there isn't enough clearance. Is that true?

Thanks again for the post...I hope you leave the photos up for guys like me searching for solutions down the road.

EDIT: Done w/ the project, this part DOES fit ok w/ the detach setup.

To add to this thread, I looked at the Dakota Digital fairing antenna, but ran across a J&M fairing antenna that doesn't need power. Maybe it was mentioned above (sorry if it was) but for someone down the road looking for a solution, this is worth considering. I just ordered one, will install in Spring.

J&M FLEXPOWER Passive AM/FM/WB Antenna 89-13 Harley Classic/RoadGlide

# FPA-HCFM-P

Its about $40

Can you tell me where the spring disconnects and reconnects to ? I just re installed my pack and got everything except the "SPRING"and I can't figure where it hooks back up.

The spring hooks up to a tab on the stock license plate bracket (right two corner).
