IMHO, seems a bit high. I recently bought an 06 Electra Glide Classic with 894 original miles on it from a private seller for $13k. GO LOW, very low and set a max number. I'd also look around for a private seller. The 06's are rock solid in general.

Went to the dealer today, took the bike out, sweet ride, got it up to about 75 without any problems. Clean bike, dealer sold and serviced bike as recommended. Only after market parts are grips. No dents, dings or scratches . dealer told me owner traded in on a 2009. Noticed a little bit of oil on front cylinder. Salesman asked mechanic to look at it, he said no problem there, he did not think it was anything major. Dealer dropped from$15k to $14k without any real push from me. Then he started pushing a maintenance plan, $1100., and an extended warranty for another $1200 and complete tire/wheel coverage for $300. Told him thanks, I'll be in touch and left. I do not want the maint. plan for that price, but do want the extended warranty. Going to wait a few days, call ,make an offer of $13k including that the warranty be thrown without charge. Any thoughts?

go on ebay motors and select year make model. put in buy it now option and select list at lowest price first. this will give you a good idea of current market prices nationwide. compare apples to apples with consideration of miles and bikes listed are still under factory warranty. local dealer wil be higher, he has to keep the lites on and you have to pay shipping on am ebay purchase. my advice is not to refer to e bay prices to your dealer, its a sore spot with them. use e bay for ref only to know if the price he is asking is markey value

Sounds like a nice blank canvas. The $2300 for service and warranty plan would leave some nice upgrades possible.

I'm thinking that if this dealer sold and serviced the bike and checked it out after the trade then they should work for the sale and throw in the extended warranty at no cost. I am not interested in the maintenance plan so that should not figure into the negotiation.

Here's the latest, may be close to a deal. Dealer offered the bike on Sat. for $14k, $1200.00 for a maintenance plan, $1020. for 2 yr. warranty on bike and $300.warranty for the tires and wheels . Offered him $13k, no maintenance plan and they throw in warranties. They came back at $13,200. and I pay for warranties. Ball is now in my court, thinking $13,200.00, I'll pay for tire warranty and they throw in bike warranty. Any thoughts.
