Default TBW grip question-08SG

Someone posted a while back that you could simply cut the rubber off the sleeve and put on any grips that you wanted.

Is this true?
inquiring minds wants to know!

I bought my 08 in Aug of 07. This was long before Kuryakyn came out with the ISO grips for TBW. I cut the rubber off the stock throttle grip and used it as a sleeve and made my own TBW ISO grips. As long as the grips that you are planning to use is a type that utilizes a sleeve, or if you can take them apart without ruining the grip then you can do it.
