Default HD Zumo dash mount

Has anyone installed the new HD Zumo dash mount for the 550?

What do you think of the install and the mount itself?

Thanks,

Art

There has been a couple of threads over the past month on this. One of them has several pictures of the holes that are required to be drilled.

After seeing the pictures I went with the techmount on the bars.

I'm happy with the fairing mount, cleaned up my handlebars and I no longer bump the GPS mounting the bike. In addition, GPS more eye level , surprisingly not much vibration. Little freaky drilling a 11/16 hole, but I got over it.

I have the dash mount and love it. It's in the perfect spot - easy to reach and out of the way. Local dealer charged $119 to install, so I let him!

Default zumo dsah mount

I installed the dash mount ,piece of cake. I would recomend using a small drill bit first, (about the size of the hole on the template ). then drill thru the side of the dash you look at while riding. It really looks good when it is installed. The only problem I see is the SECURITY SCREW is tough to undo if you have the screw driver on a key ring.

The MOCO GPS sucks so I bought the 550 ZUMO. I like the functionality of the Quest 2 much better than this pricey thing but the Quest 2 is too slow and no upgrade path.

I'll be installing the Fairing mount as soon as I get it and figure out what to do with the dash pad. I'll post some pictures when I get it done. But that will take a while with paint and all. I'm also thinking of adding the Fairing moted Radar Detector and may do both at the same time
