Some guys here say that the recurve works, others say it does nothing. I took my first ride tonight after getting the 9.5 inch for my 08 EGS. Conditions tonight included a slight breeze. I can report that for me the recurve does help to put the wind up over the helmet and so does eliminate some of the so-called helmet buffeting. I'm looking forward to trying it with a little more windspeed. With my old windshield I could, when riding along, put my hand up by the top of the windshield and block the effect of the wind on my helmet. With the recurve I put my hand up and felt no pressure which tells me the recurve is pushing the wind up higher. So, I recommend it.
Is this in comparison to the same height windshield you were using before the clearview or did you get a shield that was one to two inches shorter?
Same height. My previous windshield was the Harley Davidson 10 inch which measured from the top of the fairing to the top of the shield slightly over 9.5 inches.
I purchased a blem and it's great. The minor imperfections are below the faring edge and do not show even if you could easily see them. I called Clearview about their blems in stock and they were very helpful with information on where the blems were and what they looked like.
