HEY Arizona, I used to live in Lake Havasu City and would ride up to Mothers Road Harley in Kingman on the old 66 road through Oatman and dust was not the only thing on that road. I never thought the wind would bother you while riding until i rode in Arizona with fifty MPH head and side winds.

If you want a clean bike leave it in the garage.
The back of every bike I ever had looked somewhat dirty after every ride. Just the way they are. Baggers have more surface area in the back especially low to the ground. You notice it more on baggers than on other bikes.
I don't spend a lot of time trying to keep them perfect. Wash them every so often or for a special occasion. My bikes look like they are ridden because they are ridden.

Dust, dust, DUST. Did you buy it to look nice or to ride. Is it a show bike??? I ride mine to way much to worry about what it looks like. Give it a good bath a couple times a year and off I go. If you spend 2,3, or 4 hours cleaning it just to look pretty and then ride a few hours and it's dirty, I don't understand. I would much rather ride than wax. Just my 2 cents. "Feel the breeze."

Never before heard that about vettes and I owned two of them. Baggers have more nooks and crannies and more surface to collect and show dust or dirt. I don't think it is static electricity. The other models get dirty too. You may be on to something with the comment about BMWs in that I think Harley owners generally are more particular, some might say ****, about maintaining their magnificent appearance.
