Here around the Chicago area it you can even find full service it is usually $0.40 to $0.50more a gallon.
AMERICANS? Obviously you're not from NJ as the vast majority of gas station attendants are recent immigrants, some illegals, many who can barely speak english and many of them are from the "oil producing" Countries themselves. Yet, that's not a slam because most are nice enough and not nearly as discourteous as "good ol boy" genuine Americans would be in that lowly job. Not knocking it though as I did a few years of that as a teen, back in the days of washing every cars windows and routinely checking their oil etc (in uniform no less!)

(Remember the days when "air" for tires was FREE?)

Yup. Pretty much how it went the times I have rode in NJ.

Not an issue, they just hand me the nozzle... No one puts gas in but me.... period.

If the gas jockey does it (per the law) and he accidentally spills gas (that was already in the nozzle before he squeezes the handle) and it runs down the tank and IGNITES on your hot motor, WHO is to be held responsible for your loss?????

I can't tell you how many times the gas jockey turns the pump on and hands me the nozzle and I shake it out on the ground to find it would have spilled quite a bit of gas on my tank had I gone straight to the tank with it, like the jockey likely would have done left to his own intuition.

TWO RULES when gassing up:

1. Never fill your bike while you are seated on the saddle (You don't want to be sitting there on top of it if a spill and ignition does happen.)

2. Never let a gas jockey fill YOUR bike. NEVER!

You learn something new everyday. I didn't know about these NJ and Oregon laws. I have never been to either one of those states, but I haven't saw a full service gas pump in more years than I can remember anywhere else I have been.
