Default I Always Pump My Own

I've live in NJ and never had an attendant try to pump my gas. As mentioned before, they all just hand you the nozzle and let you pump your own.

I thought in Oregon it was a "right to work" law.

I live in New Jersey too and I never wear pumps when I get gas.

Its a bagger thing....

NO ONE will "force" the pump on you in NJ. Most will make sure the nozzle is empty for you.

Ride Safe...

As far as i know Oregon is not a right to work state. The employee has very little rights here in Oregon any more. Glad i am retired.

It would be worth just driving over if the tolls wouldnt kill you.. I saved .35 a gallon last weekend on diesel.

I remember when the NJ law was passed many years ago when self serve started to become popular around the country. It had something to do with the fact that the NJ politicians didn't want self serve because that discriminated against the handicap people. If they had self serve and it was cheaper, the handicap people wouldn't be able to take advantage of that if they couldn't pump the gas themselves because of their disability.

In Right to work states employees have less rights - the proper term is Right to work for less states

I had never heard that you "can't" pump your own gas in NJ and OR. That is the craziest crap I have ever heard!!!!!! So, if I have this straight, the politicians trust me to drive a 3000lb car at 65mph but I can't put 10 gallons of gas in my car. Never ceases to amaze!!

A friend of mine owns a SUNOCO in Lyndhurst, and he said New Jersey is a Right to Work State. Gas is cheap, but that is where it ends. Riding through on your way to Long Island should be nice. Have fun.
