Default Putting on chrome trim on gauges

Is there any little tricks to install chrome trim on the gauges and speakers? Going to be off work and plan on putting on trim and remeber seeing something on here about doing someting when installing.Thanks for all your help guys.

I used a little black silicone along with the adhesive worked great.

Clean the gauge rims with alcohol first – I used Jack Daniels, they haven’t moved in 5 years….

I would skip the two sided tape supplied with the trim. I used clear silicone and they have been on for over a year now.

That tape is kinda awkward to use in confined spaces such as the speaker grill trim.

I used the double sided tape that came with the rings....no problems.

+1 for clear silicone. Tape is ridiculously fragile and impossible to work with. Three small dots of silicone inside the rim of the chrome is all it takes.

when i put my speaker trim on i used masking tape to help line them up..then just removed the tape..

thats how I did mine a couple of years ago, and haven't had any problems.
