It's a B-148 for the early TC's (88 and 95).

What did you use to hold the mechanism while torquing the sprocket bolts?

My brother and I just put mine in 1st gear and I held the rear brake while he torqued them down. They turned a little bit until the trans/primary gears caught up, but you have the cam timing marks aligned by then anyway, so it wasn't a problem. Might have been a tad easier with the tool (especially if you are doing it by yourself), but the end result was the same.

You don't have to replace the inner cam bearings.
you can probaly reuse yer stock gaskets. I would git a cam cover gasket and 2 tapet cover gaskets. Borrow some bolt cutters unless you wish to pull yer rocker box's.
If you deceide to do the adjustable pushrods, go with quick install Screaming eagle. It will come with new Orings. Do you know how to install them and put the lobes of the cam on the bottom. Git a manual on yer bike also.
I would git the oil pump alignment pins to realign the oil pump.
I can tell you where to order them.

I would git a TW6-6 Woods cam. If you had a light bike I would say to try the woods 44 magnum cams.
And yer correct by staying with the new style chain drive cams.

If you had a 379.00 bike lift table from harbor freight it would make the job a lot easier

Don't think that's a great idea.... You are effectively reverse loading the crank halves and with all the talk of scissorred cranks, I would not add any unnecessary reverse loads to them.

If you do not have the locking tool, you can simply roll up a red shop rag real tight and strategically place it between the outer chain (side opposite the tensioner) and one of the gears ~ depending on if you are tightening or loosening the one gear or the other...

Also.... there's a NEW bolt-in cam option for the TC-96 based motors, also good in 103's. It's the Head-Quarters HQ-525. Dunno if it's on the website yet, but I hear they are in stock and ready to ship if you call in and order!

Be the first on your block to have a set!!!!

I can't wait to get my hands on a set to test. I have just the bike in mind for testing them!
