Anyone have a picture of the installation instructions or bracket mounted on the bike? Bought backrest used from an 08 and then bought the mounting bracket after comparing the two kits at harley, and seeing thats all I was missing. Saved me from buying a new bracket set. Just dont have any instuctions. Did a search but didnt find anything. Trying to find out how the mounting bracket that is new to the 09's fits on the bike.

May save some time for you, just need to know how the L shaped black bracket attaches to the bike. Im guessing by the way of the holes, that it bolts, but want to make sure

The 09 bracket is the one mounted on the bike. The one to the side is the 07 bracket I was comparing it to in the photo.

Cool, thats what I was trying to figure out, it looks like the black bracket just bolts to the frame with two bolts. any idea what type those are? Are they screws or are those bolts with nuts on the bottem?

 

Um, hate to say it but the 09 uses a different bracket than the 88-08 model years. Page 382 p/a book bottom shows 52587-09 for 88-08, shows 52589-09 for new 09 models, remember frames are new for 09!

Part number 52589-09 for 09 and later. Did you get the right kit for the 09?
