Default Battery Tender

Easy question I hope. Will the battery tender still charge the battery with the maxi fuse pulled? I have the tender plugged into the factory plug on my 2008 Ultra.

If the plug is after the fuse, then no. If the plug is wired DIRECTLY to the battery, then yes.

Trace back the "factory plug" on the bike. Does it attach directly to the battery? If so, then maxi fuse makes no difference in or out, it will charge the battery. Mine is connected directly to the battery. I didn't know the factory installed tender plug ins. I puton what came with the tender.

Just curious, why would you have the maxi fuse pulled?

EG, my bike came with a battery tender plug already wired in just below the right side cover. I'll look to see how it's wired in. I want to pull the maxi fuse so I can remove the inner fairing for painting and I don't want to start removing all these wires with power going to them.

The tender should show if it has the required connection with the light indicator.

OK, simply take a volt meter and hook it to the bike's tender plug. It should read 12v. Now unplug the maxi fuse. If it still reads 12v then it is wired hot to the battery.

Easier still, I followed the wires from the plug. They connect directly to the battery. Thanks for the replys.
