It's been almost a year since I bought my 04 RK, and besides the motor sounding like a sewing machine, I have only one major complaint. After riding for about a half hour, my lower back starts to hurt, which then transits to my shoulders. I think I am not riding right. It sometimes feels like I am hunched over. I don't feel like I am reaching for the bars or anything.

So, I think I need to readjust my bars a little (probably back a little), and maybe a seat that is a little taller. I don't think a ride height adjustment would help.

I thought about lowering my floorboards a little, but I have them up high so they don't scrape going through corners.....

Any other ideas short of putting steel rods in my back, or trading for a <gulp> Goldwing?

 

Two things come to mine. Go ape and get a back rest. It helped me.

I'd suggest a backrest and see how that helps. If not you can then adjust the bars.
