Been a while but the visitors center/campground is on the east side (Leonard Harrison St pk. I use to camp raft on the west side. Again 15 yrs ago the west side was just a few miles then turned into all dirt roads. It is a very nice rode but not on a bike. It was used as a logging road way back when with very tight and scenic switchbacks. If I recall 287, 414, 44 (going south and dumps into 220) are some very good scenic roads with streams along side it some of the way. Any road in North central Pa is actually very good.
Good luck

It shows you how much I don't know about the eastern States. I've been all over out west but would never have imagined anything like this in Pennsylvania! From the few photos I've seen, it looks better than the stuff we have up in the Ozarks!

Default PA. Grand Canyon Pics

These are from the fall of 2 years ago. A group of us came from Ohio and ended up in Williamsport because we couldn"t find a room. Checked out the home of the Little League World Series...pretty impressive!

Living in Cleveland, OH we're not too far away from PA, so I'm thinking my wife and I will have to make this a weekend ride this summer. Sounds like a blast. Glad you posted about this!

Lots of good advice here! THANKS to everyone who shared their knowledge and opinions. It will come in handy as we further plan this trip. Were going September 11th and coming home on the 13th. (Friday, Saturday, Sunday.)

Appreciate the photos also, Thanks again!

Depending on how far West you go, lots of places to stay around Kinzua Dam near Warren, PA....you can head East towards Youngsville and take a few back roads that head south towards Tionesta. Once you get into Tionesta you can head back up 62...this area has some awesome country (Marienville, Tidoute, Cherry Grove, etc)

I am not sure of the date this year, but when I find out I will update this thread. This would be something to check out as your passin' thru
