I'm wanting to pick up a Skudzuki DR400 SM with a little 440 kit and some other work... but that's going to have to wait until I get out of school. I really wish I had a little bike to play on right now since my King is in pieces being painted...

you can't beat the Suzuki sv650 for around town. It will cruise very well. $2,500 is a steal.
Go for it.

Recently picked up a Buell Ulysses, it is, without a doubt, the most fun bike I've ever ridden. Amazing what a tuned supension can do for a motorcycle. The country roads here tend to be ripply, probably from the heavy farm machinery. When hitting them hard on the EGC, it feels like it's squatting in the rear. On the Uly, the harder you ride, the more level it wants to sit. The Glide is great for Interstate and 2up, but if traveling on the scenic route, I'll be on the Uly.

Haven't had a second road bike since the '80s (too many other expences) but I've always kept an enduro in the stable. Below is my 31 yr old "baby" - 1978 Yamaha IT 250 - I take it out at least once a week.

I have one of the best IMHO all around fun bikes, a Kawasaki ZRX1200.
Kawi built it as a Eddie Lawson replica. Funny thing is I've been out on it and when it's parked had more Harley guys come over and look at it and compliment me on it.

Now that it's just me and the mrs at home now, I stepped out and bought a dyna fat bob for my kick around bike. When looking through some old photo's recently we came across pics of me on my new 1988 Suzuki Katana 1100. Wish I had that one back. Have fun with your sv650s.

I just bought a second bike, but it's a Dyna (Fat Bob) with the engine built up to a 103" Stage IV kit. When I first bought my '03 Road King Classic, I had a 2001 CBR929RR. Damn, that bike was fun as hell to ride on an open road.

The problem around here is getting to an open road. Crotch rockets are a bear to endure in traffic around town. The country roads that used to be so much fun are getting full of traffic. If it's not traffic, then it's construction vehicles working on expanding our suburban sprawl. I was zipping around a curve one day when I looked up to find the mighty Dodge Ram logo coming right at me in both lanes, towing a huge boat. The guy couldn't make the turn in his own lane.

It was a left-hand bender. If I went straight and off the road, there was a lake full of rushes. I was in my own lane and have NO memory of how I skated on the outside of that goober in my lane. It was definitely a pucker moment, and I hadn't done anything wrong. Those old roads just aren't any fun to share with beer-drinking rednecks after a day of fishing. I eventually sold the sport bike, but I miss the power and control.

The new Dyna is a bit of a hybrid. Definitely sportier than the RKC, but not as extreme as a CBR.
