i unbolted the end of the pipes from the bag mounts and pulled them out to the sides enough to fit the fender.then figured out where it was going to exit.then i took off the end caps and bolted it back in place.once i got the fender done then i fit the bags the same way.the pic is the rough cut.i then used an air grinder and finished my sanding.with the baddad fender its also long in the front so i put my seat on loose and traced it on the fender for my front fitting.

if your pipes are the same as mine, which I think they are just in black, they should take an insert. They sell turndowns and slashes on V&H website. That chrome end on your black pipes should come out after removal of a small screw on the inside. It may just be the baffle, but I think it's the end cap that holds the baffle in..

If you haven't gotten the extensions yet I would HIGHLY recommend looking at the Milwaukee Baggers bags. http://www.milwaukeebagger.com Their bags are all one piece so you don't have to worry about the seam shrinking which it will when heat from the pipes hit them and they have their bags on sale right now. The guy who did the paint on mine was so impressed with them that he is recommending them to all his customers wanting stretched bags. Plus the extra extension is usuable space inside the bags which is a plus and they are already pre-cut for either duel or two into one exhaust. Before I bought mine I did a ton of research and posted on here asking which would be the best way to go. A long time member of the forum who I respect highly told me to call him and we talked around 20-30 minutes and pointed me in the right direction. I have no intrest in Milwaukee baggers other than being a satisfied customer so its not like i am getting money to say this, its just my experiance with them.

This really doesn't apply to your situation but I am glad to hear you guys are happy with the Bad Dad stuff, I am using their 2 3/4" extensions but my exhaust is a LSR 2 into 1 that has a 45 degree turn down just is front of the bags. It seems that everything I need to know at some point you guys have delt with. Thanks for the info, Gary

When I did my Road Glide... (see flickr pages) I went with new hardbags instead of extensions and it wasn't much more but the time you sell your old bags. I had a Fatcat and had D&D make me a new muffer reversing the angle and cut to 30 degrees to match the slant of the hardbags. Don't know if this helps ya.
