You hit the nail on the head. Sixth gear is too high to just roll on it. Wind it up through the gears and hold on!

That's true on any engine. You need to wind it out in each gear so that AFTER you shift, you are still in the power band. Many bikes (and cars) will go faster in the next lower gear than in the "overdrive" type top gear.

I do know from experimenting that my Ultra will go a lot faster with a 4" windshield, that with the stock windshield. Harley fairings are often equated to a barn door. But even with the lower windshield, it took miles on a flat blacktop to hit 110, with a Stage One.

'09 FLTR - Stage I/Rinehart slips = 118 mph. Why? Have you ever been to the TX Panhandle? I'd get run over by a diesel dually at anything less than 85-90 mph...
No traffic, no bulls, smooth roads and a bike that is rock soild at 100+

I am presently under a slight change in some meds meself at the moment an just getting ready to make a modified crass landing in a bed....
Anyway: It would appear I;m a bit confused in what thread I was going to was respod was about.

Anywho, "BLUF" how much more over 100 do you need to go and if it often that is important too.

By the way BLUF =Bottom Line Up Front.

Do it buy a decent set of cams and probabaly a 103" kit with cams. Do it by MOCO or do it by one of the many excellent aftermarket guys.

But the bottlom line is, make up your mind and stop sitting on your keister wishing you had it done. Bite the bullet......................Good Luck....
